A North-east distillery is joining forces with Aberdeen’s VisitScotland Information Centre (VIC) to celebrate Burns night by offering a whisky tasting session.
Glen Garioch distillery, based in Oldmeldrum will be holding a special whisky-tasting event at the VIC, 23 Union Street this Saturday, January 25 from 11am to 3pm.
Single malts from the distillery will be available for tasting, that have been handcrafted with a beautiful range of natural, non chill-filtered whiskies at Oldmeldrum for over two centuries.
The event will also allow visitors the opportunity to find out more about the distillery, which is just a 40 minute drive from town and the various tours that they provide.
Dean’s Visitor Centre, Huntly, will also be on hand at the event, offering whisky fans the chance to sample local baking with their dram.
VisitScotland regional director, Philip Smith, said: “Events such as this, celebrating Burns’ night, give us a chance to showcase what Scotland is so good at - creating fantastic food and drink locally, which is exported all over the world.”
As well as whisky tasting and tasty shortbread samples, the event hopes to attract visitors to call in to the information centre and find out more about travel information, accommodation, tickets, internet access and things to see and do in the area.
