A group of women from Ellon have been busy organising a fundraiser at the New Inn this Saturday to raise funds for local cancer charities and the MS Society.
Ailsa Kennedy, Helen O’Brien, Carolyn Sim and Sheena Gray met while working at Ellon Academy and have been friends for years.
Last year whilst on holiday together in Ibiza the women went to a Garly Barlow tribute night and were really impressed by how much Dan Hadfield looked and sang like the X Factor judge.
Helen, who is the only one of the friends still working at the academy received a rather pleasant surprise for her 50th birthday, when her three pals had secretly booked Dan for her party. After that, the group decided to ask him back and organise a fundraiser for charity.
All of the women are, have been, or know someone that has been affected by cancer and MS and would like to recognise the support they have been given.
