Local re-homing charity D.A.W.G.S. is holding its annual Day In The Country With DAWGS event at Haddo Country Park this Sunday (May 29).
As the usual D.A.W.G.S. Day event in Aberdeen is not going ahead this year, it’s the only chance for D.A.W.G.S. dogs, other dogs and dog lovers everywhere to get together to have fun and support the charity.
From it’s base in Aberdeen, D.A.W.G.S. finds new homes throughout the North East for dogs whose owners can no longer take care of them.
It has re-homed over 3,000 dogs since it was set up in 1994, carefully matching dogs to new owners, doing home checks and follow up checks to give old owners the peace of mind that their dog will be well cared for in the future.
The event at Haddo is the charity’s biggest fundraising event this year and is designed to appeal to two and four-legged friends alike with games, stalls, a bouncy castle, a doggy tea party tent, BBQ and a fun dog show.
Event Organiser, Lynn Paterson, said: “ We are aiming for a fun filled family event for those with dogs and those without.
“It costs D.A.W.G.S. almost £350 to rehome every dog.
“We hope that people will come along and enjoy a great day out and support the charity at the same time.”
A Day In The Country With D.A.W.G.S. will run from 12.30pm to 4.30pm.
Registration for any of the Dog Show Classes will take place on the day.
