Ellon Academy’s annual Evening of Entertainment is a sell-out.
All tickets for the popular event have been snapped up a full two weeks before the spectacular - a total of 20 tables of 10 guests.
The school’s third Evening of Entertainment will be held in the academy hall on Friday, September 27.
The event is an open one for the entire adult community in and around Ellon.
Traders, businesses, organisations, including Round Table, Rotary Club, BB’s, Guides, individuals, family, friends are all invited to come along and support the event.
It is a community function, organised by Ellon Academy, to raise funds for the school.
This enables staff to continue providing the best opportunities for every pupil from S1 through to S6.
Music teacher Helen O’Brien told the Times: “So far at each of our previous events, we have been able to promote the talent that has come from Ellon Academy, and our entertainment has predominantly been provided by former pupils, all involved in music.
“This year we are very pleased to have choreographed dancers, Scott Armstrong (for his third consecutive year), Carla Zambonini, Rhona Johnstone, and “Modhan”.
“Our local jeweller Kevin Reid from K&C Jewellers, has also agreed to come back for his third year to run the auction.”
She added: “Continuing on from the success of last year’s event, we are providing a hot supper and a licensed bar, all served to our guests at their tables.
“Experienced bar staff and “management” (again, former pupils) play a huge and val part in running the evening, and contribute a vast amount to the success of the event.
“It is without doubt, a great evening and one not to be missed!”
This year a former music instructor at Ellon Academy, Ken Mcleod, who taught in the music department in the 80’s is returning to be MC for the evening.
Helen, a one-time colleague of Mr Mcleod’s, has been a music teacher at the school since 1985 and is chair of the Evening of Entertainment committee.
