NEAT Flicks are bringing two film screenings to New Deer Public Hall this Sunday (April 13).
Fantastic Mr Fox (PG) and One Chance (12A) will be shown with tickets available from local stores.
The first film, Fantastic Mr Fox will play at 2.30pm.
It is based on the book by Roald Dahl with the voice of Mr Fox played by George Clooney and Mrs Fox by Meryl Streep and a host of other well-known actors doing the voices of the other characters.
It tells the story of Mr Fox and his wild ways but before he puts his wild days behind him he plans another raid on the three nastiest farmers; Boggis, Bunce and Bean.
This film is lovable and for a few moments a little scary, smart and silly with a wonderful soundtrack.
Promoter Sue Robertson said: “We are really pleased to be showing this great film as part of the Scottish Puppet Animation Festival which is celebrating its 30th birthday this year, the film is a treat for the whole family.”
British comedy drama, One Chance, will be shown at 6pm.
This film is based on the true story of Paul Potts, a shy, bullied shop assistant by day and an amateur opera singer by night who became a phenomenon after being chosen for and ultimately winning “Britain’s Got Talent”.
One Chance is uplifting, funny, tense and moving all at the same time and stars James Corden and Julie Walters.
Sue added: “We will be selling ice cream, popcorn and soft drinks at both films, tickets are £5 and can be bought from The Pharmacy or Food for Thought, New Deer 01771 644217/644366 or at the door on the day.
“Both films are a treat for the Easter holidays.”
NEAT Flicks has been set up with help from Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and Awards for All to support volunteer promoters to bring films to rural venues in the North East.
It complements NEAT Live which supports volunteer promoters to bring theatre and dance performances to halls around Aberdeenshire and Moray.
