This year there will be a Grand Scottish Concert in the Mintlaw Public Hall on Friday, November 1.

The concert begins at 7.30pm with doors opening at 7pm.

Admission to the event is £5 and tickets can be purchased at local shops or from committee members.

Taking the stage this year will be that marvellous group of fiddlers from Inverurie area The Garioch Fiddlers along with Geordie Smith who never ceases to raise a laugh.

A Great night o’ Scottish music, stories, poetry and sang is on the menu.

This evening is not to be missed and if you have not the time to purchase a ticket come along to Mintlaw Hall on the night and the organisers will find you a seat.

The Book of Deer Project needs the funds from the evening to help to pay for the archeological digs at Old Deer to try and find the first sixth to eigth century Monastery of Deer.

So come along on the first of November and give your support to the Book of Deer Project.

The Book of Deer Project is a vibrant community led initiative. The Project has also stimulated intellectual debate and research into the early examples of written Gaelic.
