Tickets are going on sale this week for the annual Haddo House Choral and Operatic Society Carol Concerts.
This year there are four concerts, all at the Chapel at Haddo House and the ticket price will include a glass of sherry (or tea and coffee) with mince pies and shortbread in the library after the concert.
The first two concerts are on Saturday, December 8, at 5pm and 7pm, the others are on Sunday, December 16, at 2pm and 4pm.
The concert will feature a 60 strong choir and an ensemble of a dozen young singers from the Haddo Voices. The singers will be trained and conducted by Alice Dennis with Dr Roger Williams MBE at the organ.
The programme, featuring choral, solo and ensemble numbers, will boast some truly beautiful festive music including old favourites such as ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’ by Darke and ‘Unto us a Child is Born’ from the Messiah and striking new ones such as ‘God is with us’ by Tavener and the atmospheric ‘A Rose Tree Blossoms’ by Hovhaness.
Tickets costing £15, are available from www.hhcos.org.uk/events or by calling 01651 851111. Book early to avoid disappointment, as the concerts always sell out early.
