A NORTH-EAST singer is being tipped for stardom after finishing runner-up in one of the world’s biggest talent shows.
Terry McDermott. from Pitmedden, came second in The Voice USA following a thrilling run of performances which brought rave reviews from the judges.
American audencies lapped up his renditions of classic rock and the 36-year-old former Ellon Academy pupil is now expected to land a lucrative record deal.
Terry, based in New Orleans, tweeted after the final that he hoped he had done his fans proud and was “honoured to have taken this road”.
Back home in Pitmedden villagers watched the nerve-wracking final live in the local pub. His success in the hit show has delighted family and friends.
Terry started out with Aberdeen band Driveblind.
They headed to the USA nine years ago and he first appeared in The Voice USA in September. The singer has regularly hit the top of the iTunes rock chart during the series.
