50 years has passed since The Beatles last played here in the North-east but the next best thing are preparing to delight audiences in Aberdeen.
The hugely successful West End Fab Four will be at His Majesty’s next April, with hit show, Let It Be as the first Scottish date of its UK and Ireland tour.
Aberdeen Performing Arts press manager, Joyce Summers, said: “The Beatles are the world’s most successful rock ‘n’ roll band and their visit to Aberdeen 50 years ago, in the early days of Beatlemania, is one of the city’s most abiding memories.
“We cannot wait to bring back to the city their music and their legacy which still influences bands and musicians today.
“And to be the first venue in Scotland to host the show is a real coup for us.”
The Let It Be tour will feature some of the original London cast and of course, some new faces as well.
The full company will be announced shortly
The Fab Four will be showing off their musical talents in a theatrical concert showing the band’s rise from Liverpool’s Cavern Club, through the height of Beatlemania, to their studio masterpieces.
Audiences will be pleased to know that the show is packed with over 40 of The Beatles’ greatest hits including: I Wanna Hold Your Hand, Hard Day’s Night, Day Tripper, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Strawberry Fields, When I’m 64, Get Back and many more.
The tour will be at His Majesty’s Theatre from Monday to Saturday, April 14 to 19 2014.
