A NEW crime and mystery festival will be staged in the autumn at Haddo House and other National Trust for Scotland’s properties in Aberdeenshire as part of the Year of Creative Scotland, 2012.
During the weekend October 19-21, visitors will be able to hear some of their favourite crime writers reading chilling tales of crime and passion, in some of Scotland’s most stunning settings.
There will also be films, workshops, crime-themed tours of Fyvie Castle and Castle Fraser as well as Haddo House. Children will be able to become ‘detectives’ for the day by collecting clues, dusting for fingerprints and taking part in a ‘crime scene investigation’.
The festival is a partnership project between Public Image Events and NTS.
Emma Henderson, director of Public Image Events, said Haddo House, and the other NTS properties in the area were extremely atmospheric and the perfect setting for a festival of crime.
