Tickets are on sale for a double bill of opera at Haddo House Hall on Wednesday 10, Friday 12, and Saturday April 13.
Caledonian Opera, in association with Haddo House Choral & Operatic Society, are presenting two contrasting stories of passion, jealousy and greed, set to the sweeping and original music of Giacomo Puccini.
The two one-act opera’s make up two-thirds of his operatic triptych, Il Trittico.
The first one is ‘Il Tabarro’, which concerns the story of brooding barge owner Michele who believes his young wife Georgetta is having an affair with one of his workers. He sets out to trap them with violent and tragic consequences.
The other work, ‘Gianni Schicchi’, features the dysfunctional extended family of recently deceased Buoso Donati.
The productions will be fully staged and are to be directed by Wayne Morris. They will be accompanied on piano.
Performances start at 7.30pm and tickets are £20 and £9 (under 25’s) and are available from www.hhcos.org.uk or by calling 01651 851111.
